After Reading To The Actor, watching hours of video on “Master Classes on the Michael Chekhov Technique” and reading portions of other books on Chekhov, I realised that I was missing something. Throughout these resources, Chekhov’s philosophical views and spiritual beliefs were briefly touched on or hinted at. I asked myself, “What were Chekhov’s beliefs which so deeply influenced his work?” I was lucky to find a great resource which shed some light on this (the book The Rhythm of Space and the Sound of Time by Cynthia Ashperger). Unfortunately reading on Chekhov’s philosophical influences was not easy. At times it was overwhelming and I must admit that I don’t have a full understanding of them. Even so, I found this preliminary knowledge useful. A large part what I discuss here, is not so much the detail of these philosophical beliefs, but rather what Chekhov took away from them…

The Daily Routines of Famous Writers
by Maria Popova
“A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word on paper.”
I read this enjoyable article on writers and how they write. It confirmed something I have been thinking. I am not a writer….
I keep saying I want to write but writing is like other art forms. If it is in you, you will find a way. If I keep saying, I want to write and never do so it might be just a thought. Something I should leave to those who feel a strong need and have something they HAVE TO SAY. I suppose I don’t have that strong need of what I need/want to share with other. Maybe one day I will?
My Blog shares in it’s own way…
One writer in the article:
Earnest Hemingway who famously wrote standing (“Hemingway stands when he writes. He stands in a pair of his oversized loafers on the worn skin of a lesser kudu—the typewriter and the reading board chest-high opposite him.”), approaches his craft with equal parts poeticism and pragmatism:
When I am working on a book or a story I write every morning as soon after first light as possible. There is no one to disturb you and it is cool or cold and you come to your work and warm as you write. You read what you have written and, as you always stop when you know what is going to happen next, you go on from there. You write until you come to a place where you still have your juice and know what will happen next and you stop and try to live through until the next day when you hit it again. You have started at six in the morning, say, and may go on until noon or be through before that. When you stop you are as empty, and at the same time never empty but filling, as when you have made love to someone you love. Nothing can hurt you, nothing can happen, nothing means anything until the next day when you do it again. It is the wait until the next day that is hard to get through.

“I sense that Steve Katz is on the verge of commercial breakthrough with his music” Joe Ross, CDinsight.com
“His smooth voice and musical versatility are showcased in his songs” Dana Feldman ,Beatweek Magazine
“I always say that really good music— the music that is far above the norm— defies genre. These five songs are defiant as hell.” Frank Gutch, Rockandreprise.net referring to his new EP “Barricades.”
“Steve has returned with his first EP “Barricades” and it showcases his guitar/vocal workings to excellent effect.” Higherplanemusic.com
“Barricades can scare, challenge and stop us from achieving goals. They are everywhere and often invisible. I’ve gone through many barricades in my time—physical and emotional ones that stood between me and my goals. Had I failed to go through any of them, this cd would never have been made.” Writes Katz on his cd cover

You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.
I am going to the Sag office to join today. I have made the commitment to do what I love.
There can never be too much help with motivation!
“Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation and a pinch of creativity.”
“I do not try to dance better then anyone else. I only try to dance better then myself.”
“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try”
“Success in not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Not only is my destiny number ONE but so is my life path number. Along with the fact I just went into my last life challenge and it is a…. yes ONE!
I really enjoyed Christine’s words on what she wrote about one’s destiny. We all have own purpose and mine seems to be to express my individuality. She points out how other might see this as selfish and how to keep the ego in check. We need to accept our ego but in balance. I think that is the difference now opposed to when I was younger. My ego wanted to show how different I am. Now, I want to learn how to really express my voice and make a difference.
I encourage you to go to her site and see what your Destiny and Life Path Numbers are. I found her words to be very helpful but there are nurmerous other web sites which are available.
****Update!!! Life and Destiny I believe are the same thing. ( hmmm not really…depends who you read but Destiny is often your expression number. My Expression number is 9) Also, it is my 3rd and main challenge that is also a one… I am not there yet. At present time I am in my second challenge of 3. Should not be as difficult since my birthday is also on the 3rd but issues it can present are:
About your Second Challenge:
The duration of the Second Challenge usually lasts from age 30/35 to around age 55/60.
You are your own worst critic. You suppress your individuality and creativity. Each time you want to make an impression, you doubt yourself beforehand, and criticize yourself ruthlessly afterward. Your criticism of yourself is far more severe than anyone else’s.
As a result, you tend to play it safe by staying on the surface, indulging in superficialities. You rarely express what goes on deep inside of you; instead, you cover up your feelings with humor or perfunctory remarks.
You often feel alone and lonely.
Your fear of social interaction causes you to strain conversation by making too many jokes and forced joviality.
It may help you to find a creative outlet for your imagination, possibly through writing, painting, singing or dance.
At the bottom of the challenge is an effort to bring out your true self. You will learn to truly value your own creative talents above anyone else’s judgments. This must be viewed as a process of individuation, in which you become a whole human being, independent and free of the need to conform to others.

Personal date 3…You have a highly-developed creative talent. You are an artist at heart. You could excel in writing, visual, or performing arts. If you are not professionally involved in one of these areas, you should consider taking up art as a hobby.
Check out their site also. http://www.decoz.com/numerology_freeStuff.htm
Seems to me I am on my destiny… becoming an individual in the arts. I think in the latter phase of life this will become of a higher nature.
