Saturday’s Adventure… Union Square

Union Square in NYC on a Saturday Afternoon. Now without the blaring music this picture is not as effective. Nothing like getting off the subway to blaring music and being preached at from the Gospel.

I was meeting someone to see if maybe there was a connection. I had a great conversation about acting as we both are actors but why does a good conversation have to be ruined by obnoxious text afterwards. I first get a text  saying he want to see more pictures from my bodyscape calendar. Now remember our conversation was not sexual at all! He then wants to know if I am not attracted or just take things slow. (What do men really expect on a first meeting for tea?) I finally reply that my profile clearly states that I am looking to take things slow no matter who they are, as in developing a friendship first. I won’t bore you with all his responses but after me not answering back he states how he could **** me so good I have no idea. Obviously, my first and only answer about taking things slow no matter what but I don’t think we are a good match… was more true then I realized. He then sends his last text… Don’t contact me again. Well, that wish I can grant him.

Maybe we should have stayed and listened to the gospel. :)

Thought of the Day… Keep the Action Going

Keep the Action going…..

Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.
Norman Vincent Peale

Always continue the climb. It is possible for you to do whatever you choose, if you first get to know who you are and are willing to work with a power that is greater than ourselves to do it.
Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.

Fear cannot be without hope nor hope without fear.

Baruch Spinoza

My actions are creating positive feedback. I am excited that since I started my blog on May 2nd I now have over 3000 views. It keeps growing every month as I do. I try not to ask to many question but proceed with humility and a reasonable amount of confidence. I really like the quote from Baruch also because even thought I try not to focus on it, the fear is there. It is a matter of how you treat it and respond to it.

I have been offered a Film role that starts shooting in Nov. The character is one I really love. She has a lot of moxie, she is smart and she is a reporter. It takes place in the 40’s and 50’s so the costumes should be awesome. :)
In Kara’s World interviews/talk show is also coming along. I should have the first show on blip tv soon. Any thoughts on  blip tv opposed to you tube? The quality will be better although the views may not be as high?

Thought of the Day…

Is the easy way the right way?

Business Card Quotes

Business Card Quotes (Photo credit: Nathalie Magniez)

It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works. All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Success is simple. Do what’s right, the right way, at the right time.”
Arnold H. Glasgow quotes

“The path to success is to take massive, determined action.”
Tony Robbins

The easy way can refer to many things but today I am thinking more on Tony Robbins and Arnold H. Glasgow quotes from  above.

We all want to succeed but are we willing to do what it takes? NYC especially is not an easy place but for the strong it offers many possibilities.

As I start with my interviews I realize the importance of quality.  I want to do it right or not at all. This does not mean I will start with 100% of what I want but it still needs to be something I am proud of.  I also have to remember “I don’t have to be great to start but I have to start to be great.” Therefore, what I can control I will and what needs to improve will happen over time.

I completed my first interview on Sat and the content is great. I can’t thank Jenna of Dhara enough for the work she does. I hope I get to share this with you very soon. Unfortunately the sound was separate from the camera so this needs to be fixed. Something I was not prepared for but I believe Matt the Camera Guy is going to help me with this. Thank you Matt!

Manipura Chakra… 3rd Chakra

The Manipura Chakra (Solar Plexus)

Chakra Manipura

The third chakra, often called the solar plexus, is our personal power centre, the magnetic core of the personality and ego.power centre, the magnetic core of the personality and ego.

Some signs that the Solar Plexus Chakra is out of balance are:

  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Poor ability to make decisions or judge a situation accurately
  • A feeling that you are more important than other people
  • Trouble taking action or getting things done

Side Note: I have always been told my spleen is out of wake and when Gabi gave me reiki it was my solar plex that often needed the most energy. I do think it is in more balance today which is leading me on a different path then the past.

Primary Fears
Fears of rejection, criticism, looking foolish and failing to meet ones responsibilities, all fears relating to physical appearance, such as fear of obesity, baldness or aging, fears that others will discover our secrets.

Low Self-Esteem
I think one of the worst things parents do is create low self-esteem because they don’t have the patience to deal with their kids. Teaching them to be submissive and just fall in line does not foster Self Esteem or help them succeed.

It can lead to Low self-esteem and the confidence to make your own choices. You don’t know how to express your voice. I can speak from experience here. On the other end  some end up being controlling and dominating to feel confident but it is likely the lack of self confidence which promotes this.
