Essential Oils and Their Healing Properties

There are many essential oils and ways one can use them. I will highlight some of my favorite ones. Let’s first look at how they work.

Aromatherapy is a type of alternative medicine that uses essential oils and other aromatic plant compounds which are aimed at improving a person’s health or mood. Some consider this type of treatment as unscientific and wishful thinking – I will let you draw your own conclusion. From my personal experience I have felt the effects.

The essential oils used in aromatherapy have a different composition compared to other herbal products because the distillation used in aromatherapy recovers the lighter phytomolecules.
It is believed that the inhalation of essential oils stimulates the part of the brain connected to smell – the olfactory system; a signal is sent to the limbic system. The limbic system in turn influences the endocrine system and the autonomic nervous system. The brain is controlling emotions and retrieves learned memories and causes chemicals to be released which make the person feel relaxed, calm, or even stimulated.

Most oils you should dilute in oil, lotion or water. Lavender and Tee Tree oil are two oils that can be used directly on the skin. (be cautious of reactions)

Lavender has been said to help acne, insect bites, headaches, cuts and strains on a physical level. Emotionally it is good for stress, anxiety and relieve depression. It is also the one essential oil which is good for all chakras.

Lavender and Tee Tree I have personally found to be good for Psoriasis. Carrier Oils which can help Psoriasis include avocado, carrot seed, jojoba, sesame, and wheatgerm.

Patchouli: known for it’s aphrodisiac properties and is grounding and balancing.

Kindness…Quotes From The Dalai Lama.

We can let the circumstances of our lives harden us
so that we become increasingly resentful and afraid,
or we can let them soften us, and make us kinder.
We always have the choice.

Dalai Lama

Right from the moment of our birth, we are under the care and kindness of our parents, and then later on in our life when we are oppressed by sickness and become old, we are again dependent on the kindness of others. Since at the beginning and end of our lives we are so dependent on other’s kindness, how can it be in the middle that we would neglect kindness towards others?

Dalai Lama

If you wish to experience peace, provide peace for another. If you wish to know that you are safe, cause another to know that they are safe. If you wish to better understand seemingly incomprehensible things, help another to better understand. If you wish to heal your own sadness or anger, seek to heal the sadness or anger of another.

Dalai Lama

If you don’t love yourself, you cannot love others. You will not be able to love others. If you have no compassion for yourself then you are not able of developing compassion for others.

Dalai Lama

If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.

-Having compassion for my mistakes and others. I personally realized a while back  focusing on helping others was the most helpful in reliving some of my pain and bringing good all around.  That does not mean I am always successful. Quotes like these are a great reminder and can help to keep me on track.-

Good things are coming….

I will be working on a film in July and I love the role. It is a gritty role of an evil person but the kind of character you can really bite into. The film itself will be controversial relating to the church. I am waiting for the full script and I will update you with more details when I can.

I am now off to shoot a short piece in a music video. I am just trying to stay busy and continue to learn and grow. I should have some new pics and work soon to share.

Stay tuned…..

Life is Like a Camera

Life is Like a Camera

I found this on my friend Gabrile’s Facebook site.

Gabriele was a blessing to come into my life. She is my reiki master and mentor who taught me well. I took reiki two and three with her while I was spending time in Nebraska. I highly recommend everyone to take a reiki one class for your own personal healing and I could not think of anyone better then Gabriel to do this with. You will not only learn about reiki but she will be someone you want to stay connected with and continue to grow.

It is interesting to see how different people react to my post. Even if you don’t like my blog I still welcome your comments as everyone has some valid points. Post away!!! Especial if you like it. :)

Do Remember… this is a personal blog based on my world. It is not meet to be professional as I have separate web sites for that.  I try to utilize two categories Entertainment and Living however, I sometimes mix them up.

As per my Bodyscapes. It brings up an interesting subject. Can one be spiritual and still appreciate artist cures? I don’t think beauty is meant to be shunned nor do I think the photos I posted are obscene sexually.  Sensual yes but not in poor taste. Learning to appropriate one’s body is important. By no means do I have a perfect body and there are plenty of photo’s I look at and dislike. Finding the right curves and learning to love what you have it not an easy task. It is a matter of leaning to focus on the good and letting go…

I would love any feedback and hear more of what you would like to see or hear about.

Thanks for viewing!
